What am I focusing on? That is directing how I am feeling...

Someone once said, "Do not judge your life by one day."  Oh, how true this is.  Think of judging all of life by Jesus hanging on the cross... we've all felt that, all of our hopes dashed against the rocks of circumstances. In the Bible there is a description of this, "hope deferred makes the heart sick". But what about when He was then risen? Over 500 people saw Him risen.  Can you believe it was that many?  I was surprised by they number.  We live in a fallen world and we suffer the effects of evil, but that never is the final story of our lives if we are saved, thanks to Jesus.

I look so often at how things look today, judging people's behaviors, finances, measuring whether we are 'succeeding'. Who gets to say what 'succeeding' is anyway?  How the world views success?  Did you know that God never gave us the right to judge?  That was a fall out from the fall, or the great gasp as one pastor describes it, like a fish out of water. Before the fall they never had to worry whether anything was good or bad, because everything was good!  And now, Jesus has bought all that back for us, by his sacrifice, gift, atonement, He has brought us back into God's good graces, where the Godhead wanted us to be all along. In the lap of their love, in the unity of the Godhead, Holy Spirit, Father and Son.  Do you know there is a scripture that says the Father was there on the cross with Jesus?  It's in one of the books to the Corinthians. So, even though Jesus called out "My God, My God, why has though forsake Me?!"  He was never forsaken.

Think about that, you are not either. Nothing can ever separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus; that is a scripture as well. Jesus is apart of you, He abides in you.  I just heard a sermon that says that the verses about the vine and the branches really is talking about the saved or the unsaved.  Unequivocally, if you are saved you are attached to the vine, which is Jesus, because He did that for you; all you had to do -all you ever had to do- was believe in Him.  Then you became co-crucified with Him and co-resurrected into seated by the Father.  This is good news!

Mostly what I find out that is making my emotions bad, is believing that I am alone, because I 'look' alone, or that I do not measure up, or that I'm not being loved enough, or that the present or future is not safe. If I only focus on Jesus, and LET HIM show me, what is truly true, I don't have to feel bad anymore. He's still good medicine.
